Become a part of Saint Augustine by-the-Sea by participating in one of our ministries. It's a great way to get to know other parishioners while serving our church and community.

Prayer Circle − Carrie Price
The Prayer Circle ministry is an informal opportunity for members of the parish to receive intercessory prayer requests via email. Prayer intentions are written into the Chapel Intercessory Prayer Book during the worship services and then they are recorded and sent out to a circle of people who offer prayers for them throughout the week.

Swinging Seniors − Sylvia Johnson
The Swinging Seniors of St. Augustine is a vibrant and active group of senior citizens who are available to engage in activities during the week. We have events planned for people who are slow going and for people who are extremely active. Most of all the group loves to come together for fellowship and fun. Each month the group meets for lunch or a special event or field trip. Check the calendar today and join the Swinging Seniors of St. Augustine.

Altar Guild − Cecil Slye
The Altar Guild ministry is foundational to the liturgy. Men and women work together to prepare the church and the altar for services, polishing, cleaning, laundry and setting out elements, vessels and vestments. A valuable opportunity to learn more about the liturgies of the church.

Ushers − Bill Amlotte
This ministry is the first line of hospitality to all who enter our church for worship. Being involved as an usher provides members with the opportunity to greet and assist all who are attending church with the basic logistics of worship. This is a great way to meet other parishioners and to learn about our liturgy.

Newcomers − Ann Shepphird
The Newcomers classes are offered several times a year for those visitors who are interested in formalizing their membership in the parish. During the course of two meetings the history and theology of the church are discussed as well as how to become involved and excited about the parish life of St. Augustine. Watch the Ebb and Flow and the website for the next opportunity to attend a Newcomers class.

Men's Group − Caldwell Williams

We have no agenda other than to get together. Usually someone will bring a topic to discuss. Others will bring food to cook or wine to drink. We coordinate who's bringing what via a Yahoo! User group. It allows us to communicate with everyone in the group by email. Everyone is welcome. If you'd like to join the "saint-a-mens-group" on Yahoo! Just click Join this Group".

Women's Group − Suzanne Edwards
The Women's Fellowship group meets once a month to share a meal. It is a diverse group of women who enjoy a relaxed atmosphere where they can explore their relationships with each other and deepen their faith. The meals are pot luck and the monthly calendar will give you information to the next gathering of this group. This group sponsors the annual Women's Spring Retreat.

Prayer & Healing − Deborah Giordano
The Prayer and Healing Ministry of St. Augustine is a faithful group of parishioners who meet to pray and offer up opportunities for healing prayer and comfort for the congregation. This ministry can best be understood by coming to the rail after receiving communion at the 10:30 am service. Seminars and workshops are sponsored by this group during the year; watch for notice about them in Ebb & Flow.

Vestry − Darrel Menthe
The Vestry is the governing board of the parish. The group meets monthly to discern and discuss the work and ministry of the parish. Minutes of the meeting are found in the printed version of Ebb and Flow.

Choir − Bunny Thornburgh
The St. Augustine Choir is open to all members. We sing classical choral music and use the 1982 Hymnal. Practice is every Sunday at 9:30 am.

Book Store − Sarah Giorgione
St. Augustine's Book and Gift Store is open on Sundays from 8 am - 1 pm. The store features a broad selection of books on religion, spirituality, church life, and ministry as well as a fine collection of children's books. In addition to books, at St. A's Books-by-the-Sea, you'll find music CD's, lavender gifts, infant clothing, unusual greeting cards, food stuffs, candles and a number of unique gifts. Free gift wrapping is always available and most major credit cards are welcome.
