Our congregation is blessed with both a wonderfully talented choir
and gifted musicians. They add their talents to make worship uplifting.

MUSIC has long been a priority at St. Augustine's 10:30 choral Eucharist. Maurita Phillips-Thornburgh (Bunny to us), Director of Music since 1991, strives "to uplift the hearts and souls of the congregation and to inspire, with God's help." The choir of 12 - 22, including four professional musicians as section leaders, "functions as a singing extension of the congregation in worship," Bunny says.

Service music, sung by the choir and the congregation, is drawn from a number of sources, from the hymnal to Taize. Additional music performed by the choir is drawn from continental and Anglican traditions, ranging from the Renaissance to the 20th century. Our talented and much-loved organist, Greg Schreiner, has been a part of St. A's for 20 years. Music at the 8:00 am service (Rite I and more contemplative) is provided by harpist Paul Baker, who has also been with us for many years.
