Adult Class for the Winter by The Rev. Laura Queen "God of Our Mothers" by M. R. Ritley During this teaching block we will engage in a lively, deep, and personal look at some of the Hebrew Scriptures most powerful and intriguing women. This is an engaging book that will help us to look at biblical texts in relation to our lives today. While this is about women in the bible I encourage gentlemen to come and engage in a healthy conversation about these wonderful women. During the course we will examine Sarah, who was unafraid to nudge God into action. Hagar, whose courage and passion founded a whole nation; and Judith, a warrior whose faith saved God's people. Reading the biblical stories of women up close will lead us into a discussion on how they might intersect with our own Spiritual journey. The class begins November 5. A sign-up sheet will be on the patio and 15 copies of the book will be available in the bookstore. (Editor's Note: M.R. Ritley was a member of St. Augustine which was her sponsoring parish for seminary and ordination). Copyright © 2006 St. Augustine by-the-Sea
