A Day in the Park

by The Rev. Pat Hendrickson, Deacon

Our prayers were answered. The weather was perfect and God's glory was evident not just in the beauty of the surroundings, but also in the faces of those present. I even heard myself declared the newest bishop in the diocese.

I cannot find the words other than thank you. Thank you for your prayers and support throughout the journey. Thank you for being there to share the day. Thank you to those who were unable to be present - I felt your spirits holding me up in prayer. And thank you for the magnificent deacons stole. Whenever I put it on I will be reminded of the love that flows from and through the community of St. Augustine-by-the-Sea.

I also want to say thank you to all who gave me individual gifts. In the process of cleaning up, several gifts got separated from their cards. Please forgive me if you do not get a personal note and feel free to remind me. I look forward to life as a deacon at St. Augustine's and I will see you all in church.
