From Violence To Wholeness by The Rev. Joyce Stickney Janet Chisholm, national chair of the Episcopal Peace Fellowship and Non-violence Training Coordinator for the Fellowship of Reconciliation, will be leading the first FVTW retreat for the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles for those seeking to address the violence among us, to preserve our lives and our earth. Ms. Chisholm is a leader in peacemaking and non-violence, conducting workshops throughout the United States and abroad and involved in the Sept. 11 aftermath in New York City. The FVTW retreat invites us to reflect on the ways in which violence permeates so much of our existence. Through prayer, meditation, story-telling, role-playing, and study, the retreat brings us to a place where transformative nonviolence becomes a way of life. The retreat is set for May 14-16 at St. James' Church, 3903 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles. Cost of the workshop is $150 per person including meals and materials. Scholarships available based upon need. A $75 deposit is required by May 1st to secure a place. For more information, contact Marsha Vargas, retreat registrar at quizene@aol.com or via telephone at (310) 836-7459 and mail deposit to the Rev. Gary Commins, P.O.
