9 a.m. Liturgy Changes (Slight)

by The Rev. Hartshorn Murphy

Beginning Sunday, April 18th, those who come to the 9 a.m. worship may notice two slight changes in our worship. The most notable change will be that we are asking those who come to sit toward the front of the sanctuary. The purpose of this is to create a greater sense of intimacy and connection. The second is in music. For the season of Easter, we will use two Taize chants, along with the Gloria, at the time of the Presentation of the Gifts and as a closing song. This will replace the use of hymns and spiritual songs which we have been using for a time in hopes that it will enable all of us to participate more fully in singing, especially the children who attend this worship. Over time, seasonal chants may be substituted as we move through the Christian year. Come with open hearts and imaginations to experience this subtle and yet significant shift in our worship at 9 a.m.
