Creative Peacemaking Retreat
"Learn the tools of nonviolence"

by The Rev. Joyce Stickney
I invite you to join me in attending a Creative Peacemaking Retreat at St. Luke's Episcopal Church (Long Beach) on Friday, April 1 through Sunday, April 3. The retreat is a spiritual formation process for personal and social transformation based on the power of love, a desire for the well-being of all, and a longing to end the cycle of personal, interpersonal, and systemic violence. Several religious groups - including the Episcopal Peace Fellowship - have used this retreat curriculum nationally and internationally in recent years. It identifies and responds to the many faces of violence in the world: domestic, racist, homophobic, gender-based, terrorist, military and environmental.

Friday, April 1 from 3-8pm.; Saturday, April 2 from 9am-9pm; and Sunday, April 3 from 9am-4pm, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 525 East 7th Street, Long Beach, CA 90813. The cost for the retreat is $100 before March 1, $125 after March 1. For more information, please contact The Rev. Gary Commins, commins@stlukeslb.org or phone 562-436-4047.
