A Women's Retreat Reflection by Sharon Arthur I will need to get out my thesaurus to find non-repeating superlatives. Pre-retreat information was concise and just what we needed to get ready. The facility is simply lovely, the views are spectacular, the rooms immaculate and comfortable, grounds beautiful and very serene and the food delicious. Now as to the retreat itself. St. A's own Laurie Hutzler was the leader. She took us through those factors and life experiences that have made us who we are with a goal that with understanding would come improvements. She did it with scripture, humor and grace. Who could ask for more? No one was ever pressured into participation past their level of comfort. On a personal level I was a bit apprehensive about being the "new kid", the 5th timers being cliquish and me being left out. Nothing could be further from the truth. I was at all times included and made to feel welcome by everyone (from the woman who is 89 to our youngster of 24). Each wonderful woman contributed in her own special way to make my first St. A's women's retreat a warm and wonderful memory. Many thanks are due to the women that planned this down to the last detail. Things that run this smoothly don't just happen. As you get to know me you will find I don't give compliments or endorsements unless I really mean it and I give this retreat an A+. My perk was that I have made 25 new friends that share a special bond with me. I have found that St. A's will truly "meet you where ever you are on your spiritual journey."
