Many people are nervous about opening the Bible; others simply don't know how to begin. An often-overlooked gift of the Episcopal Church is that the texts and doctrines of the Bible are embedded in our prayers, liturgies, and creeds.

In September we will begin a six week adult education course using Vicki K. Black and Peter W. Wenner's book Welcome to the Bible. This book will provide us with a basic understanding of the theological and religious meanings of the literature contained in the bible. It will also give instructions that will help us to begin to study scripture and adopt it as a life long practice.

Each week we will study a chapter in this book to guide our discussion about the bible and bible study.

Sign up on the patio so that we know how many books to order. The approximate cost is $13.00. The books will be available in the bookstore in August. The class will be held on September 16, 23, October 14, 21, 28 and November 4.
