Newcomer's and Inquirer's Class Forming Now by The Rev. Hartshorn Murphy The Winter Newcomer's Class will be held from 7−9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 and 12Noon − 2 pm. on Sunday, Feb. 25th. Dessert and coffee will be served on Friday and lunch provided on Sunday. The decision to formally join a church – to move from being a "habitual visitor" to a "committed member;" to move from outside to inside the circle – is a highly subjective choice. This class seeks to provide participants with the information they need to make an informed decision, in a format which is designed to be fun and even renewing. Following the class, participants will be invited to join St. A's, to choose to continue with us in an informal way or, if they choose, given counsel and referral to other congregations that more nearly fit their needs. Our task, as Christian followers, is not to grow an individual congregation but to help expand the Kingdom of God. In other words, there is “no obligation."
