Women's Annual Retreat Y2005 by Pam Schmidt The Annual Women's Retreat this year has a few new twists! First, it will be one weekend later than usual: Friday - Sunday, April 29 through May 1, 2005. This schedule change was made in response to those women who did not want to choose between the retreat and the LA Times Book Festival. Now, you can do both! Second, the retreat will have a new location: the lovely La Casa de Maria in Santa Barbara (the Ladera Lane location). You can check out their website at www.lacasademaria.org. Carpools will be arranged. Our leader will be our own Judy Peace who guided us through a great Lenten Series last year and who we know will be a terrific retreat leader at our 2005 retreat. For those of you who have not yet attended a retreat, it is a wonderful, relaxing and invigorating experience. There will be a program, and you can participate as much or as little in it as the spirit moves you that weekend. You can use the opportunity to get to know other women in our parish in a much deeper way than your Sunday connections or you can spend some quiet time with yourself or both. Following each of the past retreats, small groups have formed to continue the fellowship year round. The cost of sharing a room will be $220; the cost of a single is $270. This includes two nights and five meals. There will be limited scholarships available from proceeds from the bake sale (another reason to bake more and buy more!) Please contact Joyce or Hartshorn if you are in need of a scholarship. A $30 non-refundable deposit will hold your place; you can pay the balance in installments, with the last payment due March 20. We can accommodate only 25 people, and in years past we have had to put people on a waiting list. So, we encourage you to get your deposit in as soon as possible.
