Julian Comes to Santa Monica by The Rev. Hartshorn Murphy
On the first Sunday in the new calendar year, January 4, 2004, Peter Bergstrom, the Executive Director of Camp Stevens, will visit with us here at St. A's following the 3rd worship service. Some 40 individuals and families have participated in the parish weekend in Julian and many of our children have participated in the summer program as both campers and counselors. Peter comes to share with us about the vision for the future that is emerging at the camp and to ask for our prayers and our support. The Camp is a valuable resource for Episcopalians in both the Diocese of Los Angeles and the Diocese of San Diego. It has been and continues to be a valuable resource for us here at St. Augustine's. We are a great and mighty congregation and as such we have a major responsibility to share our love with others both in service and outreach. We meet to consult with one another and to seek discernment on how we can respond as a great parish to this opportunity before us. Join us on Sun., Jan. 4, 2004 at 12:15 p.m. for this brief presentation in Pierson Hall. Join us.
