The Gift of a Women's Retreat by Sheila Harrington
Attending a women's retreat is a journey of affirmation, perspective, challenge and peace. It's a wonderful gift . . . to yourself, or to the special woman in your life.
On a retreat, we hear each other's stories, share our thoughts and dreams, and explore our perception of God in our experiences with the world. We make special connections with the women of our parish. This enables us to trust one another and to act more positively in our personal and collective relationships with God, our friends and families, and ultimately with the whole world.
After the last three retreats some of us have formed small groups which meet once a month or so, to continue our fellowship and our journey in faith.
Our 5th Annual Womenís Retreat is April 25 to 27, 2003, at the Mary & Joseph Retreat Center in Palos Verdes. There are only 30 openings available. A $30 non-refundable deposit will hold your place. The total cost for two nights and five meals for a semi-private room (2 people with attached bath) is $150. Private rooms are $200. If you make the deposit now, you could just pay $30 a month to give yourself this gift of new life.
