New Focus for Spring Women's Retreat

by Sheila Harrington

What happens on a women's retreat? Well, you told us (on the Retreat Feedback Form) that last year's retreat was, "surprising," ... "magical," ... "challenging," ... "comforting," ... and "revealing" ...

We have reviewed the evaluations you supplied after last spring's retreat. Here's what we learned: you want a more spiritual focus - not a monastic retreat, but not a pajama party either. You gave us some insightful suggestions for subject matter and for activities.

We are excited to have The Rev. Liz Habecker, Rector of St. Mark's in Downey as our retreat leader. She suggested that we design the schedule. She will bring her spirituality, her scholarship, and her experience in conducting retreats. She made several suggestions for a theme, which we are still considering.

By the time you read this, the "Design Team," those of you who saw the notice in the bulletin and could find the time, have met to help plan this year's retreat.

The St. A's Women's Retreat will be held at the Mary & Joseph Retreat Center in Rancho Palos Verdes on April 26-28, 2002. There are only 30 openings available. A $30 non-refundable deposit will hold your place. The total cost is $150 for a semi-private room. Some private rooms are also available. To register, please fill out a registration form on Sunday or call the church office soon at (310) 395-0977.
