The St. A's Bookies Corner by Christa Buswell This is the first of a regular monthly Ebb & Flow column updating you on our new store. For starters, let me share with you our vision for Books by-the-Sea. We envision the store as a part of St. A's ministry. As such, we hope to be in harmony with the mission of the Parish Church of St. Augustine by-the-Sea, which states: "The mission of St. Augustine by-the-Sea is to include all people as we share the grace of God and challenge ourselves to follow Christ." No mean challenge, that! Just how do we plan to meet it? By offering you a store responsive to your needs, both spiritual and of the every-day living variety. We hope to enrich the life of the parish through a collection of books and gifts meant to reflect what we are all about as Christians, as citizens of the world, as pilgrims through our island home, as a community of faith. And just how are we going to go about that? Well, there'll be source books of the faith, and travel guides for the spiritual journey. Books for every aspect of family life. Books of comfort and help at times of trial. Fun stuff, too. And, our pride and joy, a fabulous collection of great reads and views for the littlest and not so little parishioners. Toys, too! The icing on the cake? Gifts, large and small for when you need them - and when don't you? Candles and soaps and good smelling things. Gourmet goodies. Jewelry, religious gifts. Even our own St. A brand of coffee - now there's class! And if you can think of anything else, let us know. We aim to please. Every item in the store was chosen with you in mind. So who needs a personal shopper? It's your very own store, please use it. Take the hassle out of holiday shopping and have a very happy holiday season! P.S. And bring your friends.
