St. Augustine's Men's Retreat

by The Rev. Canon Dr. Paul Lawson

We are children of the 20th Century. We grew up in the last century and millennium but we will live the rest of our lives in this new age and time. What has changed for us? What does leadership look like in this new century? Is it more of the same? Are there new options open to us? Are there new ways to look at our parish and the ministry we do there?

As our life goes on, many of the things that have come to pass in our life, have caused us to withdraw or erect a shell around us. For men it's important that we find a way to express ourselves and engage the world in positive ways. What gifts do we have that will make this possible for us? Our time together in retreat will allow us to look at some of these questions as we look at our lives in this millennium.

(Editor's Note: The Men's weekend will be held at the Mary & Joseph Retreat Center in Rancho Palos Verdes, beginning after dinner on Friday, June 10th and ends after lunch on Sunday, June 12th. The cost is the same as the women's weekend: Singles at $270 and Doubles (shared occupancy for one other person) at $220, which includes lodging for two nights and 5 meals and all materials. Sign ups are on the patio and space is limited. A $30 non-refundable deposit is requested to reserve your space. (Checks to St. Augustine's and memo: Men's Retreat.) Partial scholarships are available. See a member of the clergy.
