Spiritual Practices: A Practicum

by The Clergy

Beginning April 18th at the 10 a.m. educational hour, and continuing for 8 weeks, we will offer a practicum on spiritual practices. This will involve a brief instruction in the practice and then an opportunity to try it on. Included will be: lectio divina, labyrinth, the rosary, journaling, centering prayer, ecstatic chant, the daily office and others. For more information, see next month's edition of Ebb and Flow and watch your bulletin for announcements.

What we know is that any spiritual practice can be life giving to the spiritual journey but that it takes at least a month of disciplined engagement for any practice to have an impact. This survey is intended only to introduce a variety of practices. The one that speaks to you as the practitioner should be followed until it no longer gives life at which such time you should shift to another discipline. This is meant to give you the tools as a resource in your walk of faith.
